Romans 6:4 NKJV “Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
Fall, is a time of renewal. Children are back to school. People are back from vacation. People are back to work. Along with that renewal is a time that we can prepare ourselves for the regular routine of life. It is a time when we look at our lives and especially our spiritual lives and examine if we are on the right course. Something is wrong if after looking at our lives and seeing everything Jesus did for us and are still living and sinning as if we were never saved; something is wrong if after the sufferings of Christ before and on the cross we are still suffering and in the same condition we were before we were born again. Jesus gave us a new life, we should be walking in it today!
Today, a lot of us are celebrating the fact that Jesus died for us, but not many realize that we were in Him the entire time! When He died, we died with Him; when He was buried, we were buried with Him; and when He rose from the dead, we rose with Him! No wonder the Bible says that if any man be in Christ he is a new creature! We are new creatures with a new life, the God life, and God expects us to live it here and now!
Brothers and sisters, if the Son set us free, we are free indeed! Sin has no dominion over us; poverty has no dominion over us; failure has no dominion over us; sickness has no dominion over us; curses have no dominion over us; even death has no dominion over us! Let's stop living the old life! Get rid of the mentality of the old man; the old man was crucified with Jesus! Choose to enjoy this new life; decide that from today you will walk in it and live it to the full. Become aware of it! Walk in righteousness, holiness, dominion and love.
